International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)
International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a specialised agency of the UN, established as an international financial institution to finance agricultural development projects primarily for food production in the developing countries. It focuses on country-specific solutions, which can involve increasing rural poor peoples’ access to financial services, markets, technology, land and other natural resources.
The Sectoral Policy and Institutional Assessment assesses the quality of a country’s present rural policy and institutional framework. Each aspect of policy is considered in light of its impact on economic growth and rural poverty reduction.
