Institut de Recherche Empirique en Economie Politique (IREEP), based in Benin, is a not-for-profit educational institution devoted to empirical research, providing policy recommendations and training.  IREEP’s objective is to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development in Africa by improving the quality of the provision of public goods.  The Mo Ibrahim Foundation commissioned IREEP to construct an independent analysis of executive elections by using expert opinion from a variety of sources.
