Foundation visit to Dakar

In April 2008, representatives from the board and prize committee of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation visited Dakar, Senegal.

During the trip, the Foundation shared and collected feedback on its research, and strengthened partnerships with different sectors of Senegalese society to further national debate around governance.

The programme of events included a press conference, an academic roundtable on the Ibrahim Index in conjunction with The Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) and a gathering of policy-makers and civil society.

During the roundtable participants from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Mauritania, Nigeria and South Africa, as well as Senegal discussed the challenges of measuring and improving governance.
