The Foundation is working with the African University College of Communications (AUCC) in Accra, Ghana to create a pilot module to train future journalists and sensitise them to the importance of governance issues and their role in promoting accountability and transparency.
Students at AUCC will meet once a week to discuss media coverage of governance issues in the country and write a monthly report on their findings.
In this way a permanent resource tracking the debates around governance in the media in Ghana will be created and these future journalists will all become aware of the importance of their role in improving governance.
The module is a pilot which the Foundation hopes to be able to replicate across Africa.
